I went to the doctor and he put me on a super strong antibiotic so I'm hoping to be back in the P90X saddle on Thursday. I'll extend this phase by a week to make up for the lost time of being sick - so this is really week 2.5 and next week will be week 3.

Today was a bust. I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a 101.5 degree fever and I was feverish and achy all day. So no P90X today and probably not tomorrow either.

Saturday's workout was Kenpo X. I made it through another week of workouts - yay! I had a very nice nap Saturday afternoon. I did a little better getting sleep this week but I still need to get to bed earlier.
We celebrated Chanukah at lunchtime so I had to have latkes. (Yes, I know Chanukah is over. The boys really wanted to observe it this year and I didn't get it together in time to do it during the actual time. At least we're still in the right month!)
Breakfast
Protein shake (banana, blueberries, strawberries)
Lunch
3 potato-apple latkes
1 piece of gelt
Dinner
Dianna's Christmas cocktail party
Snack
1 piece leftover Papa John's cheese pizza
Handful candy corn
Since this is the holiday season, I'm trying to keep my expectations as far as food and eating go realistic. Like if I have a holiday party, then I want to eat good for the rest of the day so I can splurge without guilt at the party. As opposed to thinking, "Well, I have a party tonight, so I might as well eat like crap all day, " which is definitely an attitude I've had in the past.

Friday's workout was Legs and Back. Friday was crazy. I overslept so I didn't have time to eat a real breakfast after my workout. I spent the morning getting a manicure and pedicure for Travis's work Christmas party so I didn't have time for any snacks. Then I spent the afternoon in urgent care with West and Cute-Bomb who are both sick.
Breakfast
Chocolate milk
Snack
Tall non-fat, no-whip mocha (Starbucks)
Lunch
Turkey burger w/low-fat Swiss cheese on sandwich thin
Snack
String cheese
Diet Coke
Dinner
Travis's holiday party
So looking over my day, it was obviously lacking in fruits and vegetables. I did have a few chocolate covered strawberries at Travis's work party!

Thursday's workout was supposed to be Yoga X but it has a lot of vinyasas and I was afraid that all those planks would hurt my stomach, which was still sore. So I decided to do Cardio X instead. It was a good workout but not as intense as I expected it to be. I mostly followed the diet Thursday. I did substitute a Low-Fat Mango Smoothie from Panera for one of my snacks. I'm addicted to those smoothies - I could have one every day!

Wednesday's workout was Shoulders and Arms plus Ab Ripper X. I stuck to the diet for Wednesday but of course I don't remember all that I ate now! I need to get better about blogging every day. It's hard to get everything done now that I'm going to bed earlier - I'm so used to staying up way too late to do everything I need to do.

This morning's workout was Plyometrics. My abdomen still hurts but Plyometrics didn't use the muscle that's hurting so I was able to finish the workout. I also stuck to the Fat Shredder diet today:
Breakfast
Mushroom omelet
Strawberries
Coffee
Lunch
Shrimp Stir-Fry
Cashews
Snack
String cheese
Dinner
Turkey breast w/gravy
Green beans
Butternut squash
Snack
Protein bar
I wasn't hungry enough for a mid-morning snack so I saved the protein bar for after dinner. It's chocolate so it hit the spot for my after dinner cravings.

Yesterday's workout was Chest and Back, which is basically alternating between different types of push-ups and pull-ups. On about the third set of push-ups, I got a searing pain in my right upper abdominal quadrant. I couldn't do anymore push-ups after that and had trouble doing everything in the Ab Ripper. I'm currently fighting a Group G strep infection (the joys of a compromised immune system!) so I don't know if it has something to do with that or if it's a pulled muscles. It still hurts pretty bad today. I'm going to the doctor for a follow up appointment on the infection Friday so I'll ask him about it then if it still hurts.
I also started the P90X nutrition plan yesterday. I ate horribly last week because I knew I'd be starting the plan this week (not smart, I know) so my weight yesterday morning was 133. I followed the Fat Shredder Level 1 menu for yesterday:
Breakfast
Protein Shake
Snack
Protein bar
Black coffee
Lunch
Chef Salad
Snack
Soy nuts
Dinner
Salmon w/lemon dill sauce
Roasted Asparagus
Wild rice
Red pepper soup
I can't believe that all that food was only 1800 calories! I wasn't hungry at all during the day. I was a little hungry at night but I just went to bed instead of eating more. I think that was more psychological because I usually munch the evening away.

I've made it through the first week of workouts! This morning was Kenpo X which is a kickboxing workout. I love kickboxing and haven't done it in a long time so I really enjoyed this workout.
I was dragging for most of today. I need to work on getting at least 7 full hours of sleep a night next week - I think that will help my energy level. Also eating better will help too. I didn't eat very well this week because I knew I would be starting the P90X nutrition plan this coming Monday.
